The paper published a full-page article about the film on Jan. 15, 2012.

Luchina Fisher is on a roll. If 2012 turns out to be anything like last year, the New Fairfield filmmaker will have lots to celebrate.

The award-winning writer, editor and producer just wrapped an independent short narrative film, "Death in the Family the Family," and she's hitting the film festival circuit. "We're waiting to hear, fingers crossed, to see which ones we get in," Fisher explained.

Forget that it was 25 years in the making, some of them filled with loss and anguish. It doesn't diminish the glow. As Fisher tells it,  those soul-searing experiences enabled her to draw from her life to create art. So while the mother of three young boys waits to hear from some of the biggies -- the Berlin, Tribeca and San Francisco film festivals, to name a few -- she'll continue with her day job as a writer/producer at ABCNews.com.
